Asha Niketan Welfare Centre - ANWC

Asha Niketan Welfare Centre (ANWC) as a Social Work Organization was constituted and started its function from 1st April 1964. Our Organization comprises of four civil districts of Madhya Pradesh, namely Bhopal, Harda, Hoshangabad and Sehore. The head office is situated in Bhopal.  The ANWC, as per Registrar and Firms Societies Act 1973 got registered in 1998 and obtained the registration no. 5668/98. In the yester years, the ANWC concentrated all its work on welfare model such as vocational training programmes, agro industries, poultry, digging of wells, mother and child health programme, Income Generation Activities, sponsorship and undertaking emergency relief work on natural and manmade calamities.

Due to the past experiences, the ANWC had a deep reflection and decided to have a paradigm shift and adapted People Led Development Approach. The ANWC realized that the beneficiaries should not be mere objects of development but the people should be real owners of the development process. In this approach, importance is given to the knowledge and decisions of the people. People have to take a lead in the whole process of their development and the ANWC’s role is only to facilitate them in that process.
